Soul y Sombra utilizes Somatic Experiencing, a somatic modality founded by Peter Levine. Somatic Experiencing is a gentle, body based approach that helps people understand how stress and trauma live in the nervous system. Instead of focusing on retelling painful experiences, it works with sensation, awareness, and the body’s natural capacity to settle and recover. This approach supports regulation, resilience, and a greater sense of safety over time. It is the primary modality that informs how I offer somatic support and education through Soul y Sombra.
